Food for Thought 25 | Meet #3 Recap

Sorry for being a little MIA.

As you may know.. I had a powerlifting meet this past weekend. So I had a bit of tunnel vision. I was just focusing on my meet. Focusing on my food, my body, visualizing my lifts, getting all the rest that I needed.

I walked into the meet without having to cut weight. I just skipped breakfast. I weighed in at 121 pounds.

After weigh-ins Tony and I went to get some breakfast.. I we definitely hungry!!!! We went to Elmer's.

Of course I wanted to eat a huge stack of pancakes with all of the syrup and whip cream and chocolate chips. But I didn't.. I chose a meal similar to what I always have for breakfast. Like I've mentioned before.. I always eat clean. That is what I'm used to, and I perform well off that... So I don't want to change things up too much for my meet.

After brekkie.. Tony and I went to the hotel. I had been calling the hotel ever hour to get early check-in. Hahaha. And it worked. We checked in.. And we both fell asleep.

After a little nap, we went to the gym. Of course I had to eat another meal.

Meet weekend is full of eating and resting. It is the one time that I get to eat pretty much whatever I want, with no limit (without over stuffing myself).

FRIDAY MEALS (day before my meet):

1. Picture above

2. Cous cous and chicken

3. Trail mix and rice cake pb&j

4. Sushi

5. Froyo and muddy buddies (movie snacks)

I also made sure to constantly be drinking water. Oh, and some Pedialyte! I love Pedialyte! :)

After the movies.. I was beat! It was definitely bed time!

MEET DAY!!!!

Up at 6am to get some breakfast! Gotta love hotels with free breakfast! That is one of mine and Tony's requirements when we pick a hotel. Free breakfast and free wifi! Ha.

I had eggs, sausage, toast, and a little bit of coffee. AND OF COURSE WATER!

I made sure to put salt on my eggs and had some peanut butter and honey on my toast!

SOOOO GOOOODD! Not the salt, the PB & HONEY <3

During meet weekend.. I make sure to take plenty of digestive enzymes. All this food has to be digested! And fortunately my body did a good job with that. I was able to poop after my meet day breakfast! YAY! (sorry if that was TMI.. not really sorry. LOL)

You can see how my meet went by

watching my YouTube video ----------------------------->>>>

It was NOT my best meet! I was not happy with the way that I performed.. At least with my bench press! But you know what... It is okay! I pulled through, finished the meet... And won!

I came home with a great learning experience and plenty of things to work on!

This is what I love to do! So I will never give up on trying to become better and better!

Big thanks to everyone who help run the meet! It was a fun and very well ran meet!

Awesome job to all the lifters!!! It was so nice meeting some of you! I also got to meet some of the people in the crowd! Thank you for coming and cheering me (and the other lifters) on <3

& most of all... Thank you to my handsome man, TONY! He's the real champ of the weekend! I wouldn't have been able to do it all without you!
