So..
After my meet, I had to get right back to everything.
Back to training. Back to my eating. And I have just added a little bit of cardio back in.
The week right after my meet was a lighter, higher volume week. Just focusing on getting my body moving and recovering.
My eating went right back to a low (non-training day) and a medium (training day).
To be completely honest.. This week has been challenging.
1. I gained a ton of weight during my meet weekend. I definitely ate too much junk.
2. After eating all of that junk.. I wanted to keep eating whatever I wanted.
3. You normally never feel the greatest after a meet... Most take that next week off.
NOT ME!
I know this kind of sounds like complaining.. And it kind of is.. Which I need to stop doing.
The lifestyle that I live is completely my choice!
I do like to share with you guys the fact that it isn't always easy for athletes and/or health & fitness professionals. We are human too. We like cookies and ice cream too. Especially me! Haha!
Anyways... HOW DO I STICK TO MY EATING?
1. I've said this so many times... Make your meals enjoyable!!! Don't eat things you do not like just because you think it is healthy for you.
2. Eat according to your goals. If you want to fit into your favorite pair of pants that have gotten too tight.. Then eating a Big Mac and fries isn't going to help you achieve that. Instead.. Make a homemade turkey burger and some sweet potato fries.
3. Stay hydrated!!! It is very common for people to think they are hungry.. When they are really just dehydrated.
You do not have to drink a gallon of water. Everyone's body is different. Therefore, everyone needs a different amount of water. The easiest way to know if you are drinking enough water is by the color of your pee. You want it to be a faint yellow.
4. Be active. Don't just sit around with nothing to do. When boredom hits... So do the cravings. Plain and simple.. If you stay busy (and productive) you will less likely have random cravings for junk. Go hiking, read a book, go on a walk, play a board game with your family. Do something that has nothing to do with food.
5. Surround yourself with positive and supportive people. This helps so much! Not everyone around you has to be doing the same thing you are.. But they should support you in your journey! It will make your diet or program a lot more enjoyable.
That's it for now. :)
