This is going to be a little bit of a rant..
Too often you hear people complain. They complain about everything at one point or another.. But of course people like to complain to me about how they don't have the time to go to the gym. They don't have the time to meal prep.
"I tried to diet, but it just wasn't for me."
"I wanted to do a bodybuilding show, but I was hungry and tired."
Yes! That's it. Just give up! That's the way to do it! Give up on your goals. Give up when things get a little hard. And then in a few months complain some more about how you aren't where you want to be.
This rant can go with anything in your life. It can be with your work or career, health and fitness, bodybuilding, power lifting, relationships... etc.
If you want to become the best (at whatever) you HAVE TO PUT IN THE WORK! And the time!
Sometimes there are those "freaks of nature" that can become the best "overnight." But I wouldn't count on that.
Plus, even if you were/are a "freak of nature," I would hope you would still want to work hard to be that much better!
This rant goes for me too!
I look at the athletes that have been in my sports (bodybuilding and power lifting) for years.. And I complain to Tony that I'm not as buff, as lean, as strong, etc.. as them. And he is really good about reminding me that I just haven't put in the same amount of time and work as they have.
One of my favorite bodybuilding is Evan Centoponi. He talks about how he likes the challenges of bodybuilding. He takes care of himself inside and out. He also does his best to focus on the positive of every situation.
Another athlete that I look up to is Marisa Inda. She posted about embracing the suck. That you do what you've got to do to achieve your goals. And yes, there will be times when it isn't the most fun.. But it will be worth it when you win your competition or hit your goal weight.
All in all, if you want to become the best YOU in whatever hobby, sport, career, etc... Put in the work. And don't complain. Complaining isn't going to get you closer to your goals. See the positive in every situation. And learn from the negative.
