How To Stay Motivated

Okay... So I have a confession.

I have not been wanting to workout. Not all the time anyways.

Mainly the days that I work at the dealership. I just want to go home and hangout with my boyfriend.

I have also been having a hard time getting up to do my morning cardio.

WHAT AM I DOING ABOUT THIS?

I am still doing my cardio and my training!

I know that if I skip a cardio session, or a workout... I will not be happy with myself.

Plus.. on or off season... Every workout still counts toward becoming better!

I seriously cannot say it enough, KEEP YOUR GOALS IN MIND!

This is how I stay motivated! Even when things are quite going my way.

As you have seen in my youtube videos and read in my previous blogs... I have been struggling quite a bit lately.

I have been having a hard time sticking to my diet. My shoulder has gotten worse since my shows. And to top it all off... I haven't been sleeping very well. & I'm totally not trying to complain. Just listing my challenges from the past couple months.

There will always be ups and downs in life. Easier times and harder times. You will have days that you jump out of bed and are ready to conquer the world. And there will be days where you just want to stay in bed.

BUT YOU CANNOT STAY IN BED! Especially on those days! You have to get up and work even harder on those days!

You are in charge of your life! SO TAKE CHARGE!

So... Here are some things that I do to keep pushing, even though I may not want to.

1. When I wake up in the morning I say, "Thank you!" I am thanking the universe for this day. Thank you for the amazing life that I live! Thank you for the chance to become better! People (including myself) tend to forget how good we have it. Take a second.. Open your eyes.. And be thankful for all that you have!!! There are people out there with waayyyyy less!

2. I prep and pack my meals. Therefore I will stick to the plan. Plus.. I don't want the food in my fridge to go bad. So I guess you can say that I only keep good food in the house. I had to start throwing my left over cheat meals snacks away! I couldn't control myself with them in the house. I am fine now. I finally have control back.

3. I have great training partners (Tony, Doyle, and Brandon). We all show up, each and every day. We don't necessarily workout together (as in do the same workout).. But we train around each other. We are there to spot each other. And cheer each other on when we are going for a heavy lift (or an amrap)! A good training partner can also be a good accountability-buddy!

And when it comes to actually staying motivated... Staying motivated 100% of the time is near impossible.

This is when you fall back on your discipline!!! If you have put in the time to create good/healthy habits.. Then you will be just fine. Sure it will be a little more of a struggle to get up or go to the gym. But you will get it done.

Another thing that is good to practice is ENJOYING THE JOURNEY (or the process).

Think about how you feel after a great workout. Energetic, accomplished? Those feeling are like a reward!

Think about how you feel after a day of following your macros to the T. Also energetic, accomplished, and not bloated! Sounds amazing to me!!!

That is all the process! The daily things that you do make you feel good. And they help you reach your goal in the long run!

Welppp... This is it for now. I hope this helps.
