Happy Saturday Everyone!!! ツ
I hope everyone is holding up during these crazy times. Just know that you aren't in this alone. Literally, the entire world is going through it with you. Not that that makes things better... But a lot of times when you are going through a rough time... It is nice to know that you're not the only one.
During times like this (really any situation or experience) you should try to learn something from it. Find the lesson. Find the silver lining...
If you were in a job you hated... You now have the opportunity to find a new/different job.
If you didn't have any time to spend with your loved ones.. You do now!!! So make sure you do it!
If there were some things you wanted to do around the house, well now you have the time.
If you wanted to try a new craft.. Perfect time for it!
You needed to catch up on sleep!!! Snooze away (well not too much.. LOL)!
Read more. Stretch more. Experiment in the kitchen.
I feel like there are so many fun & positive things that we can all be doing right now!
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY... We all have the time to be there for others!!!
Like I mentioned above... You are not in this alone... We are all struggling in our own way with this.
So if you think of a friend or loved one... Take a few minutes and reach out to them. Text, phone call, FaceTime... Something. Or if you are the person in need... Don't hesitate to reach out yourself. ♥♥♥

Rise & Shine my Lovelies!!
It's Sunday Funday!!! What do you guys have planned for today?
My day is pretty jammed packed. But that's about every day for me. I tend to put way too many things on my list. Fortunately I have gotten better at not freaking out (too much) when I am unable to get EVERYTHING done. Tony told me one day, "You will always have things to do." And he is most certainly right! So no need to stress when I have tons to do... I will always have tons to do. That is the life I have chosen to live. And that's okay! I owe 4 business... I'm an elite athlete.. And I like to get stuff done ツ
Okay... Now let's start actually talking about what this blog is SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT!
"Life & Injuries Happen.."
I'm sure you noticed that I put happen in quotations... I did that because I have been doing a lot of thinking about the saying, "Life happens." What does that even mean? Yes... We don't have full control over everything that happens in out life (like COVID-19)... But I don't like the idea of just letting life "happen" to you...
Sure... There are times where "you go with the flow," or "roll with the punches" (more sayings I hear and say myself)... But the more I dig deeper into who I am as an individual, what I want in life, what I value, etc... The more I open-minded I become. The more I want to learn...
I used to (and sometimes still do)... just go through the motions. I was so content with my life... And now that I look back... & think about my future... I want more. I want to do more. Make more of an impact. Make more people smile!!! I want to travel. I want to learn. I want do things I'm not good at... I want to NOT be afraid to mess up or fail! All of this is how I will learn and grow!!!
I used to just let life "happen" to me... We only get one life!!!! So I don't want to just let it happen... I want to actually live it! I want to go through my day with intent.
in·tent
/inˈtent/
noun
intention or purpose.
"with alarm she realized his intent"
As I continue to learn who I am... I am figuring out my true purpose in life. What do I want to bring into this world? What do I want to provide? How do I want to be known/remembered? Questions that Tony has brought up to me before... But I don't think I was ready to answer them... But I think I am now... Those are things I will be journalling about privately... & then you will see me bring it all to life in time ♥
You should take some time to really think about those same questions... If you were stuck in a job that you don't want to do... Or you aren't living a life that you will be proud of... Then it is up to you to change it... And I strongly think having the time to think about things like this is the silver lining of what is going on. We have the power to make this not so positive thing... Into something better than we may think.
"Take ownership of your experiences."
Okay... We have talked a little bit about life... And where I am at mentally with everything...
Now injuries... Being an athlete and coach... I feel like I always have to talk a little bit about physical health & fitness too.
I personally am dealing with a few, small injuries. It started with my glute... Then shoulders... Then knees... Sometimes I feel like I am falling apart. But that goes back to not just letting life "happen" to you. Don't just let injuries "happen" to you either... There is a reason you are feeling these things... & now is the perfect time to really focus on getting all the little things healthy. No more training around them. No more ignoring them. No more pushing your stretches and rehab work to the back burner.
Pretty much all shows and competitions are cancelled...
So we all have the time to really take care of ourselves!

I strongly think my injuries have come from me overworking myself physically, mentally, and emotionally. I was working at Bob's Red Mill, baking for my own business, running my gym (kinda), coaching my athletes, trying to still perform like an elite level athlete, & get all my stuff done around the house! I think eventually it all caught up with me. Not getting enough sleep... Damn! I thought I was a super hero! Ha.
But I am here now... And I am learning and working on fixing these injuries. And I will make sure to put practices in place to avoid them going forward.
Here are some of the exercises / stretches / movements I am doing for my injuries:
LOWER BODY:
-Pigeon Stretch: hold 20-30 secs each side, 2-3 rounds
-Single Leg Deadlifts: 2-3 sets of 8 each *very controlled with no hip rotation
-Peterson Step Ups 2-3 sets of 10-12 each *controlled with no hip tilt or rotation
-Banded Hip Stretch or Couch Stretch: hold 20-30 secs each side, 2-3 rounds
UPPER BODY:
-Thread the Needle: 2-3 sets of 6 each side with an iso hold at the bottom
-Cable or Banded Internal & External Rotation: 2-3 sets of 8-10 each side
-Lat Stretch: hold 20-30 secs each side, 2-3 rounds
-Banded Serratus Wall Climbs: 2-3 sets of 5 up & down *killer*
I will post these on my IG (https://www.instagram.com/kayliebaby_ifbbpro/)
Here are a couple... Thread the Needle & Wall Climbs
Okay... Let's wrap this up... Before it's September. LOL.
Things happen in life and in the gym that are out of our control.
But I feel like there is always a lesson to be learned and/or a silver lining to it all.
"Use the term silver lining when you want to emphasize the hopeful side of a situation that might seem gloomy on the surface. The common expression "every cloud has a silver lining" means that even the worst events or situations have some positive aspect."
& that is in your control... To find your lesson or silver lining ♥
