INCREASING MACROS?!
What, WHHAAATTT?!
Yes! I have been either keeping my macros the same or lowering them to make weight for my power lifting meets.
But like I mentioned in my previous blog.. Tony and I discussed and decided that I was going to increase my macros.
Now why in the world would I do that?
1. I have a power lifting meet coming up. So I need to be able to perform at my absolute best! And I have a better chance of doing that if I am properly fueled with food.
2. I was lowering my macros and adding in cardio, yet my body wasn't dropping weight. So something needed to change.
3. After this meet, I will be starting my contest prep for my pro debut. Therefore, I want to make sure that I am in a good place calorie/macro wise. I don't want to diet when my calories are already low. The reason for that is because if my calories are already low... Then they will only continue to get lower and lower as prep goes on.. And by the end of my prep.. I will most likely have dieted off all the muscle I worked so hard to put on.
4. You cannot put on or build muscle while in a calorie deficit.. So if I want to make any gains.. It is about time for me to be okay with eating more food. AND NOT WORRY/CARE ABOUT THE NUMBER I SEE ON THE SCALE!
5. In order to successfully be able to increase my macros I need to stick to my plan! So this should help me get my head back into the game.. And not want so many cheat meals. As much as I love cheat meals... I know that it is hindering my progress going into my pro debut.
Since I have decided that I was going to increase my macros, I have increased my calories my 100 last week, and another 100 this week (total of 200 in 2 weeks). On my training days all of the extra calories go to carbs. On my rest days the calories are split between protein and fats. And as of now.. My weight is about the same. And I feel like I am still leaning out. I am definitely a happy camper!
As you all probably know.. I offer online training and/or nutrition.
I have a sale going on through the end of April for my custom programs.
