Comparing & Overwhelming Yourself [STOP IT!]

This morning I was thinking about my life.

I was thinking about how blessed I am to have what I have. And be where I'm at!

I mean... I worked my butt off to be where I am. As an athlete anyways..

Now I have to take that same work ethic and use it towards my education and business.

But yeah... I just wanted to remind you to take a moment and see how far you have come!!! :)

NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT WHAT I REALLY WANTED TO TALK ABOUT..

Comparing yourself to others.

We all do it. Some more than others. And as much as I want to say I don't... I know I do, a lot! Unfortunately.

As I scroll through social media... I see other competitors and wonder if the look better than me. I see other girls on the street dressed in cute little dresses... And I just know that it wouldn't like that cute on me (in my eyes).

Sometimes I get jealous... But what I am really doing is comparing my "faults/weaknesses" with someone else's strengths. And I really need to STOP IT!!!

HOW DO I STOP?

Well... For starters... I need to focus on myself. My life. My goals. ETC...

When I am focused on other people and how they are better than me...

I am not focused on improving myself or my work.

In a way I need to keep my eyes on the prize. Taking care of myself, my loved ones, my clients, my businesses...

I also need to focus on the good!

Sure... We all have room for improvement.

We all deal with challenges and struggles. And we all must overcome them in order to progress in life.

So I need to focus on the good things I have going on and focus on getting even better!

I tend to get overwhelmed with all the things I have to do. All the things I need to improve on.

Which is a bad thing because I don't necessarily use these things as motivation to improve. I see them as a roadblock or a fault in myself as a person. NOT GOOD!

To continue with what I was saying above...

NO COMPARING MYSELF TO OTHERS! I am going to do my best to focus on my own life.

It doesn't matter what other people are doing, what they look like, or even what they say or think about me.

NO OVERWHELMING MYSELF! Life is stressful enough without us adding more stress to it.

I am going to do the best I can and let that be in. & I will continue to work harder each day to improve.

I am going to continue to write my lists... But I am going to use those lists as just that... A list!

It is not a deadline to get EVERYTHING done all at the same time, or even all done in the day.

I mean... That would be great... But it doesn't go that way a lot of the time. So no need to stress about it.

I have also been keeping another piece of paper where I just write thoughts and ideas on. It is not part of my "TO DO LIST." It is just a list of my thoughts throughout the day. A lot of times there are things that will be added to my "TO DO LIST" in the near future.

Well... I think this is going to be in for this blog.

PS. As of today 6/13/18.. I am 16.5 weeks out from my first show of the year.
