Non-Hungry Eating

"...real problems cannot be dieted away."

September 12, 2019

If you have read some of my recent blogs or watched my recent YouTube Video... Then you know I have been ealing with some eating and body image issues.

I mentioned in my recent video that I have also started therapy with Amanda Rizo.

She is a therapist that works with a lot of athletes (bodybuilding and powerlifting). She is/was an athlete herself. So that's nice because I definitely feel like she knows what I am going through.

Anyways... If you have more questions about that... Don't hesitate to ask. I would love to share my journey with you. In this blog I want to talk about non-hungry eating. Like the title says. LOL.

NON-HUNGRY EATING

I wasn't even really aware of this until I read the book If Not Dieting, Then What? (which is actually a really good book) ... I have been eating at "a certain time" for so long now. Once I started my fitness journey... I just ate every 2-4 hours. Whether I was hungry or not.

When I first started eating like that, it was a challenge to eat so often. I had to force feed myself. Which was okay because my goal at the time was to grow.

Okay... I'm not even going to say sorry. LOL. I think you guys already know.

I have been quite busy & productive lately. Unfortunately, that did not include my blog.

I recently let go of an employee... & another one quit (not for bad reasons).

But I do think that it was all a blessing in disguise. It has lit a fire under my ass. And re-motivated me to improve my businesses.. MY WAY!

As awesome as it is to have good employees. My businesses are still small... So I can still do it all on my own. Well, not all on my own. I have Tony! :)

What I'm trying to say is... I don't think others are going to work as hard as I am to grow my businesses. And after having employees and see what they do and don't do... I have a better idea of what I want to make sure to do!

So that's why I haven't finished this blog yet. I'm over here being a little business owner :)

And not thinking about food... As much. LOL.

But... Let's get back to the topic of NON-HUNGRY EATING...

I think it is more simple than I might be making it out to be.

The biggest thing is to become MINDFUL of when you are eating, what you are eating, and why you are eating. Are you actually hungry or are you just bored. Or are you just eating because the food is there? Are you eating because it is "meal time?" ⇐⇐ That may be valid if you are a competitive athlete... But if you aren't... Then you shouldn't necessarily let the clock determine when you should eat.

Also, be mindful of what you are eating. Are you eating what you enjoy? Is what you are eating making you feel good inside and out? Is it helping you get closer to your goal? Do you feel guilty after eating?

Dieting or eating healthy... Doesn't have to boring or torturous! You still want to enjoy your food. But you don't want to be an asshole about it, either. JUST BE MINDFUL. And really trying to think about and FEEL what your food does to your body.

I read a story about a lady who really wanted a piece of chocolate. But she told herself that she shouldn't/couldn't have it... So instead she ate a piece of fruit. But she wasn't satisfied, so then she ate a sandwich... And so on... Finally, she ended up eating the chocolate. The moral of the story is... Eat what you feel like eating. Had she eaten the piece of chocolate. Enjoyed it. Satisfied her craving. She wouldn't have eating all the extra stuff that didn't satisfy her.

But remember... Don't be an asshole with it. Don't just eat all the junk food because you feel like it. Be smart about what you are putting in your body.

WHY ARE YOU EATING THIS? Is a huge question that people don't really think about. I know I didn't. I either ate because it was time to eat. And I was eating my meal because it was on my meal plan. Or if I wasn't dieting or following a meal plan... I caught myself eating simply because I could. I may not have even been hungry... I was just eating вє¢αυѕє.

WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!

"I'm just eating вє¢αυѕє." That just sounds silly. Not hungry, not craving anything. Not really enjoying what I'm eating... Then I feel guilty afterwords! NO, NO, NO!!!

Well... Let's end this blog here.

And I just want you guys to be ⓂⒾⓃⒹⒻⓊⓁ of your eating.

& don't eat just to eat... :)
