Prep Update [2 & 4 Weeks Out]

Thursday, September 20, 2018

I am sitting at my desk... Trying to think and get work done.

I wanted to write a blog/article about the best veggies to eat... But my brain just doesn't want to do that right now.

I am at the point in my prep... Where I am like a robot. I am doing what I need to do... My energy levels are all over the place... But most of the time they are VERY LOW! I feel like I can take a nap at any point in the day. Ha.

I weighed in at 115 this morning. The heaviest I got before prep was 136. So I am down 20 pounds.

Even though I normally drop about 30 pounds in my preps... It is still crazy to me what the body can do!!!

I'm already a pretty tiny human.... & to drop all that weight! It's amazing!!! And I still have more to drop.

I'm thinking I will be around 105 on stage. A tad bit heavier than last year!!! Woo! GAINZZZ!

Well... I'm going to take a break from writing right now. I'm going to take a short nap before I go back to the gym for my workout and cardio. Good night for now :)

15 minute nap done! I feel better! Now it is time to slam my pre-workout and head to the gym!!!!

Check out Valhalla Labs for a great pre-workout! I love the flavor and the way it makes me feel!

Happy Friday, everyone!!! I'm feeling really good today!

I woke up at 115 again... Did my cardio. Was able to poop (sorry for the tmi, not really sorry HA).

And then I was 114!!! Yay!!! Does anyone else weigh yourself after pooping? LOL.

I'm getting really excited for my shows.

Tony asked me yesterday how I feel and how I look.

I feel really good! And my body is changing almost daily now! It is so crazy!!!

I think I will look better than last year! NO! I WILL LOOK BETTER!!!

I feel like I will be leaner and bigger than my second show last year!!! & then I will be even leaner for the second show this year! WOO! I'm so excited!!!!

It feels good to feel this way! Confident in the way I look! I rarely have that. But I am working on getting that more regularly... Not just during contest prep. Easier said than done, of course!

Speaking of how I feel... My body feels good too! Last year I was going to try to do a powerlifting meet a month after my two shows... So I was training HARD! & HEAVY!! Doing comp lifts and everything. Pushing the weight week to week to make sure I was getting stronger for the meet. & that lead to my body feel completely beat up and ran into the ground. NOT FUN!

Don't get me wrong... I was strong AF! And I would love to be that strong right now... But I honestly feel so much better!!! And I feel healthy. Joint, tendon, and ligament wise.

My shoulders are feeling great!!! Which is what got hurt last year. I couldn't even lift my spoon to eat without pain. And now... I have no pain! They have their moments in the gym.. But I am just mindful of it... And train smart and safe. If something hurts... Then I just don't do it. I will find a different exercise to do that works the same muscle. That's the beauty of bodybuilding... You don't "have to" do any specific exercise.

So to sum it all up... I'm feeling really good! Inside and out!!

My digestion is doing so much better. WAAYYY LESS BLOATING! (which I will be writing about on the Team Phoenix website, going over different veggies). My body feels good. Training is great! AMAZING PUMPS!!! I feel like I have maintain a lot of lean tissue this year! Past preps I feel like my upper body just shrivels. And my pants aren't super saggy. Which is nice... Because saggy butt isn't cute! Hahaha.

Once you start dieting... It is impossible to build lean tissue because you are in a calorie deficit... So your goal is to maintain the muscle that you gained in your off season. You work so hard for your muscle... It's silly to just diet it off when dieting. And I'm extremely happy with how this went for me this go-around!!!!

My brain is starting to get a little scattered... So I'm going to end this blog here.

Keep an eye out for my veggie article.

I will also be putting out a YouTube video about what I'm doing now that I'm not at the dealership.

And I will also be writing an article on exercise variations.

So stay tuned :)
