US Open Week 4

Tuesday March 6, 2018

HELLO EVERYONE!!!

So... The Strength Union is now open! We had our grand opening this past weekend! I would say it was a success!

We had around 70 people there! So many people and so much fun! Very busy and chaotic weekend though.

Thursday, we went to the gym to train... Didn't get much training done though. The monolifts, cable machine, and all the pound plates arrived. So of course we had to take care of that. Desi, Tony, Aaron and I (oh and Daryl) all finished putting the gym together Thursday night. Aside from smashing my finger... It was a great, and very long, day.

Friday, Desi, Tony and I all met back at the gym to clean everything up. Then we had an open gym that night. Tony and I tried to train again... Didn't get much done... Lots of friends and talking.

OH! I forgot to mention... Tony and I decided to have our cheat meal Thursday because we had only eating 2-3 meals that day. Little did we know... We were going to be eating out every night this past weekend. Ha. It's okay... We had friends fly out for our grand opening... We weren't going to bail on a dinner with them.

Saturday, THE BIG DAY! And it was such a blast! Everyone did great! Tony ran the show! Aaron ran the front desk. Desi helped keep things flowing. Jenny baked delicious snacks and brought coffee. So proud of our team!!!

Sunday was open gym again. Finally was able to get my workout in. Unfortunately, squats felt like poop. But I did have to keep in mind that the weekend was crazy busy, and I only ate an average of 3 meals per day. Sure I ate out each night... So I did get a surplus in calories... But everything was still so off. It's okay! The effort was there. And now everything is back on track.

Now it is time to fill the gym with awesome members! Get team training going! Get some classes up and running! WHO WANTS TO JOIN? Email me at kaylie.trainer@gmail.com

Okay... So let's talk training.

As you read above... Thursday-Sunday training wasn't the best. It wasn't the worst either. I did what I could.

That's all one can do... YOUR BEST!

There are so many things that go on in one day, one weekend, one week. You just have to work around things and give it what you've got for that specific workout.

I tend to forget how much LIFE can effect your training, recovery, your weight loss and/or weight gain.

If you don't get enough sleep. If you have an extra stressful day at work. If you get in a fight with your significant other. If you skip a few meals due to a chaotic schedule.... Etc...

All those things can make you feel not your best, which means you might not perform at your best.

I'm not one for excuses... But life happens.

When any of things happen, I just do my best to stay positive and stay on track.

Stressing over any of them will only make thing worse. And no one wants that!

Well.. I think that's it for today! Bye for now :)
