Improvement Season 2

Wednesday October 18, 2017

Sooooo.... I am sitting here at work. My tummy is growling.

What to do?

It just so happens that my desk is right in front of the area to buy all of the snacks.

Trail mix, candy bars, yogurt covered pretzels, sugar filled drinks... A bunch of yummy and UNHEALTHY stuff!

A bunch of stuff that I DO NOT EAT!!! Unless I am given a cheat/free meal.

Instead of going off my plan.. I drink a ton of water. I like to put Mio in my water. It gives it a little flavor!

I will also drink some black coffee with stevia/splenda/0 calorie sweetener in it.

Coffee is awesome because it gives you some energy, and it is a natural appetite suppressant! Woot woot!

Contest prep or off season.. I follow my plan!

For the most part!! I am only human... And can have weak moments. They are very rare though!

Yesterday was a win! Followed my plan to the T!

Yesterday was my first low day. It was kind of nice to eat all those veggies.

Does that make me weird that I love veggies so much?

I just love that they are so satiating! Plus.. They are just very tasty!

Today I took some check-in pics and emailed my coach. I have dropped 6 pounds since Monday! Yay!

So much water weight! It is kind of insane!

My coach seems to be happy.. And I am on the right track!

I even asked him if I should skip my cheat meal this week because I ate so much last week.. And he said it is up to me; but he would like me to eat a little something. So that I shall do!

I am actually going to switch my days around too. I normally have my refeed day/cheat meal Saturday. But I am going to have it Sunday. 1. Tony doesn't want to have a cheat meal. 2. I will be in California Sunday night... So I can get some dinner with my family.

This is a perfect example of how you can follow you plan and still "have a life."

Not saying that eating out or having a cheat meal is having a life... But a lot of people think it is.

You just have to plan for it. Be prepared! Switch things around accordingly... Whether that be your meal times, your workout times, or even you refeed days/cheat meals.

Saturday October 21, 2017

Good morning everyone! It is Saturday at 7:43am. I've been up since 4:09am. Yeah.. I totally hit snooze! LOL. I've been sleeping in since my show. I no longer get up at 3:40am. Mainly because I'm not doing 50+ minutes of cardio each morning. But I still get up early 1. I do still do 30 minutes of cardio. 2. I like getting up early to get stuff done! 3. I feel better and have a more productive day.

So... Today is my refeed day. I know that I said I was going to switch this day to Sunday, so I can eat with my family. But... GUESS WHAT! NO CHEAT MEAL FOR ME THIS WEEK!

Yes... You read that correctly.

Yes... I typed that correctly. HA!

Why am I going to skip my cheat meal?

Why the heck would someone do that if their coach tells them to eat a cheat meal?! Sounds like craziness!

But when it all comes down to it... I DON'T NEED IT!

I ate a ton of food last week. I had a cheat meal every night, for 9 days! I know I said I wasn't going to say it... But I gained 15 pounds in one week! NOT OKAY (in my mind)! My coach didn't seem to care. But I was very unhappy and uncomfortable with that.

It is already a refeed day... I will be in a really good calorie surplus, so I do not need to eat sh*t food! I do not need to pig out! It just won't be beneficial for me and my goals. Plus.. I finally feel better after that first week. So why would I want to mess that up?!

I am so thankful that Tony reminded me about my goals! And that I have him by my side to keep me on track!

AND NOT BE A "YES MAN!" In the past (& still currently) I have so many people who tell me that I "deserve" to eat. I "deserve" to me "normal."

WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN??!!

Deserve to eat? I'm eating. Actually a lot of really good food! But my body for sure doesn't deserve, nor does it want sh*t food!

Deserve to be normal? WTF is normal? Who is normal? I know I'm not normal... Nor do I think I want to be. I like that I am elite or above average! I don't want to be normal or mediocre. Sorry is this is a little harsh.

So long story, long... I will be following my refeed macros to the T this week... And depending on how I feel, look, and where my weight is at... I might, JUST MIGHT, have a cheat meal next week.

Oh.. I almost forgot... Another reason why I plan on having less cheat meals than my coach is telling me to have (I am not going against his program.. He did say it is up to me)...

I want to get my macros/calories up during this off season (improvement season).

In the past... I would pig out, get "fat," and then diet/cut calories to counteract my binging.

Not productive at all! It didn't benefit my in any way.

Is food/a cheat meal really worth it? It is worth tossing my goals out the window?

And keep in mind.. This is all for me and my goals. There definitely is a time and place for cheat meals. I don't ever expect or even recommend others to live the way I do, unless you have similar goals.

So yeah... I am keeping my goals in mind! Short term & long term.

I want to be top 5 in the world in both my sports... And in order to do that.. I need to continue to work harder!
