Okay... So my show was a little over a week ago.
And to be completely honest... I am kind of freaking out about the weight that I gained during the week.
I don't even want to say how much it is.
But... I am doing my best NOT to stress about it.
1. It is just a number.
2. That is why I have a coach.. So he can stress over it (though I hope he doesn't).
3. I did what my coach said to do.
4. Stressing isn't going to fix or change the situation; if anything it will make things worse.
5. I started my off season plan today (Monday the 16th). So the majority of the weight will drop off in the next 1-2 weeks.
I enjoyed a lot of good food last week.
I followed my refeed/high day macros during the day. And then ate whatever I wanted in place of my 6th meal.
I pretty much ate all of the trail mix and m&ms! LOL. That's what I wanted. Ha. I also ate quite a few of the Quest Hero Bars! They are so delicious! Oh and.. I found the Cookie Butter and Mystery Oreos! BOMB.COM!!!!
Even though it is great being able to eat... I really do enjoy being on my plan!!!
I feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally! Plus... My butt doesn't smell as bad when I am eating good! HAHA! #allofthefarts
So... People always ask me how the heck I am so strict and stick to my diet. They talk about how hard it must be; and that they would never be able to do it. But in all actuality... It is very simple. YOU JUST DO IT!
1. I have a huge goal that I am working towards.
2. I hired a coach. So I am going to make sure to listen to what he says.. If I don't then it is like I just threw money away.
3. Like Jocko says, "Discipline is freedom." That statement is so true! And I absolutely love having the say over what goes into my body. I love that by simply following my macros I can transform my physique!
4. I like the challenge.
5. I actually like my food! So that makes it easier to stick to my macros.
But, like I mentioned above... You just have to do it. Make the decision. Come up with a plan. And follow through!
Now... You want to talk about what is pretty challenging?!
Not becoming a fat cow after the show, or after you have reached your goal.
I know I have mentioned plenty of times on how all this is a LIFESTYLE!
& I know that. I most definitely live the lifestyle.
I also know that DIETS are TEMPORARY! And that's what I was doing... I was dieting down for my shows.
Honestly, the post show "diet" is the hardest part of this entire journey! Dieting down and losing weight is simple. And you see such awesome results and progress along the way!
After the show you start to add food back in, you back off the cardio... And you start to put weight back on.
The awesome cuts and muscle definition starts to fade away. It is not the most fun thing in the world. But it is a part of the process!
Especially the first week right after the show.. You are so dehydrated going into the show (just that day before and day of show)... So afterwards when you eat all of the NOT healthy food your body blows up. And I know that my body tends to hold a ton of water. Bleh!
When I earned my pro card I gained 40 pounds after my show. So this time... I was very nervous and scared in a way, to end prep. I was scared to eat... I was/am scared to get fat again. I don't want to experience that post-show rebound!!!
But.. This is why I hired my coach. I will be working with him for the next 12 weeks. And I know I am good hands! I'm very excited to learn from him.. & to do my off season right this time!
These are my current macros:
MACROS:
LOW: p150/c45/F30 VEGGIE CARBS (Wed/Fri)
MED: p135/c205/f21 (Tues)
MED: p135/c180/f35 (Sun/Mon/Thurs)
HIGH: p105/c480/f0 *CHEAT MEAL REPLACE LAST MEAL
This is just a base plan to get my off season started.
I am also doing 30 mins of HIIT 6 days a week. Coach says I can do it at any time in the day, but I am doing it fasted. I personally just like fasted cardio best. 1. It taps into the fat stores best. 2. I get it done first thing in the morning and don't have to worry about it for the rest of the day.
I feel so much better being on my plan. I mean.. I was on a plan last week, but it was so much food! Plus a cheat meal every night. It was just a lot! & my body shows it right now. But that's okay... I will drop the water weight within the next week or two.
Another awesome thing about my current macros is that I get to eat 6 times a day again. It was pretty rough eating only 5 times. My days are just so long! But I made it work!
I am also enjoying have my intra-workout shake back! I know that it is so beneficial for performance; and keeping my body fed/fueled during the workout!
One down fall at the moment is that I am quite hungry! My appetite is so high, which is normal after a show. That's why my coach had me eat so much last week. And he did warn my about the hunger.. & that it would be a bit challenging. But I will most definitely fight through the hunger! I know what happens when you don't fight through it.. And I refuse to let that happen again!
Welppp... I think this will be it for this blog. I will be blogging throughout my off season/improvement season. I will be sharing with you guys what I'm doing, what I'm going through, how I'm feeling, my challenges, and how I'm overcoming them.
And please let me know if you would like me to go over anything or if you have any questions. :)
